It’s working

Ed_vaizeyIt is clear that our message is getting though and most importantly your efforts are having an effect. So well done and thank you.

As some of you would have heard Ed Vaizey our MP is ready to come and meet with us and see the green gap for himself.

Alas he can no longer make Monday. We’ll make sure we get it re-scheduled.

Remember, this will only be stopped if you guys don’t stop your efforts to stop it!

What’s your view?

Grainger has promised to take your view into account when they revise their proposals.

So let’s remind ourselves of your view as it is now. That would be a glorious view with an unbroken vista across historic grade one agricultural pastures all the way to an official area of outstanding natural beauty. Continue reading

Being totally presumptuous here

If we say nothing-1The phrase “a presumption in favour of development” is used a lot in the context of a lack of 5 year housing land supply. This, in turn, is taken as a green light for developers and development.

At least this is a narrative encouraged by the developers themselves. A narrative designed to suggest to residents that it is simply not worth opposing schemes because they are inevitable. The few of us lucky enough to hear about Grainger’s exhibition will remember their consultants saying, ‘well it is going to happen anyway’. It is why their pretty exhibition boards had “sustainable development” plastered all of them which it the litmus test of development.
